A lovely soft opening hole, dogleg to the left, with a generous fairway width off the tee for the first shot of the day.

The optimum tee shot is 250 metres, with a relatively easy carry over the fairway bunkers on the left. A fade just short of the right-hand bunker is preferable for most hole locations. A draw is preferable to the left side of the fairway for hole locations to the right. A precise pitch shot of approximately 85 metres should set up a chance for a lovely birdie.

The green has some interesting slopes and is raised from all sides. Missing the green will leave a difficult pitch or chip shot.

From the elevated tee, an accurate tee shot of approximately 260 metres is the sensible play. Any tee shot further becomes exceptionally narrow, as the fairway "bottle necks" past this point, with a most punishing bunker to the right and the large trees to the left.

Many difficult hole locations are available and extreme care must be taken, especially front hole locations protected by the water and the rock wall. The green has many elevation changes, which will make long putts difficult. A back left pin position on this double green will demand accuracy and will create some interesting putting.

A truly wonderful par 4. Extreme accuracy off the tee is a premium, with the two punishing bunkers to the left and the large trees to the right.

The green is elevated and very well-protected by bunkers and slopes off the green. Many tough hole locations are available all around the green, therefore a fairway position for the approach shot is vital.

The green is 40 metres wide and an inaccurate approach will face a difficult long putt. The wide entrance to the green looks inviting but anything short, common on an uphill approach, may run back down the hill some distance.

A real "thinker's hole" with many options from the tee. Although it is only a short par 4, many dangers face the aggressor.

For the long hitter, the exciting risk-reward drive is to the right of the pot bunker, which could see the ball reach the green surface. But beware, the slightest inaccuracy can lead to disaster. A tee shot of approximately 220 metres is the sensible strategy, leaving a pitch shot of around 100 metres to the well guarded green.

The green offers many difficult hole locations, particularly at the rear and on the left, which are guarded by the long beach bunker.

A good solid par 3 hole from slightly elevated tees, with the green well-protected by bunkers left and right emphasising the need to hit a straight ball.

Difficult hole locations around the edges of the green may be tempting, however, as on most par 3 holes, the centre of the green is the sensible target.

Don't be fooled with the apparent width off the tee. It is important to drive the ball as close to the left bunker as possible as any drive right of the centre will be blocked out by the trees around 300 metres from the tee on the right side of the fairway.

Any drive to the right will require a controlled fade with a second shot to the lay-up area. An excellent drive will be required to even consider going for the green in two shots. Bunkers at the front of the green and the lake and another bunker through the green demand a perfect length approach.

The green has many difficult hole locations available and will require great precision on the approach shot from the golfers comfortable pitching distance after a sensible layup.

A well-controlled long or mid iron shot is required. But be careful, the difficult hole locations to the back and left mean danger is all around.

The safe shot is to play to the front right although lengthy putts will be difficult, as the green is large and has many elevation changes.

An intimidating hole from the island tee, located across a board walk through native wetlands. A drive to the right centre of the fairway is the preferable line.

A pulled or hooked drive will be blocked out by trees, whereas a sliced or pushed drive will find the lake to the right. The very long hitter should be aware of the fairway bunker to the right, 270 metres from the back tee.

The angled green guarded by bunkers front left and back right encourages an approach from the right side of the fairway, any approaches from the left side of the fairway will be quite difficult. The green surface has many gentle slopes and putts from behind the hole will be rather slick.

A lay-up 3-wood over the carry bunkers will leave a mid-iron to the green. A long, accurate drive avoiding the hollows to the right will set up a short iron or wedge approach to the green.

The green is situated by the lake, which will catch many errant second shots. The pleasantly undulating green, guarded by a bunker to the left, slopes directly to the lake front right and at the back.

Another hole to respect, where correct club selection and precision are vital to score a birdie.

Although quite short, this hole requires good course management. The fairway bunkers to the left must be avoided.

A tee shot of approximately 220 metres is the sensible play. The large undulating green is well protected with bunkers and in particular, the pond short and to the rear. Birdie will not come easy, particularly with the many tough hole location available.

A good uphill driving hole where a lay-up might be the sensible option. A drive to the right of the centre is the best position to approach the green.

Fairway bunkers on the left side of the fairway will make for a difficult recovery and a pot bunker and heavy tree planting on the right at 260 metres deters too much aggression from the tee.

This three-tiered green is well-protected with bunkers front left, encouraging play from the right of the fairway. The back pin location is also guarded by a bunker to the back right.

This medium length par 5 plays through a "chute" of tall trees left and right, placing some pressure on the golfer from the outset. A drive to the right of the centre is essential as the left is well-protected with bunkers which may also hide the route to the green.

The second shot plays down a valley with a lake on the right and back up to the green. The huge double green is surrounded by bunkers and the narrow entrance will require extreme accuracy. Be careful with lay-ups as some difficult long explosion shots will be required from the bunkers on the right.

Lay-ups will need to beware of the lake on the right, and the uphill approach will mean the front bunker will hide the base of the flag-stick for most pin positions, making club selection difficult.

An aesthetically beautiful hole, with the pond to carry and the stream running down the left side of the fairway. Aggression is no option. An accurate tee shot of approximately 220 metres, followed by a precise wedge will offer a chance for a birdie.

Difficult hole locations to the front and back left should be respected as the green is guarded by many-bunkers and the pond to the rear.

The safe option is a tee shot of 200 metres, laying up just short of the stream crossing the fairway.

An aggressive tee shot needs a minimum carry of 235 metres, but is very risky with the stream to the left and the bunker to the right.

The approach to the green requires careful club selection and precision. Difficult pin positions are to the back left with bunkers front and back right and to the right over a bunker with water to the right.

A lovely little "nail biting" par 3. Being an island green, careful club selection and precision is vital to set up a birdie putt.

Aggression to difficult hole locations can be disastrous, so it is highly recommended this hole should be treated with respect.

A very challenging drive is necessary to avoid the bunkers to the left and the lake to the right.

The fairway is generous to the left but will leave a much longer route to the green. The long, accurate drive taking on the lake will be rewarded with a long iron, or fairway metal approach to the green. Second shot lay-up areas are very well protected with many bunkers and the lake to the left, demanding great care.

The green is well protected with the pond to the front left and bunkers to the right. The green surface is undulating, making long putts difficult. Statistics will show lots of birdies here, but also many bogeys!

There are a number of difficult hole locations, especially on the middle right, where only an exceptionally skilled golfer should attempt to traget the flag sitting above the wall.

As the green slopes steeply from the back to the front, it is desirable to keep the ball below the hole for an uphill bridie putt. The bunkers front left and pond encroaching on the right therefore create another difficult pin position at the front of the green.

Only the foolhardy will play this hole aggresively. A tee shot of 225 metres is the safe way to play this hole, leaving a short iron approach of 145 metres.

The deep right hand fairway bunker must be avoided as with a long water carry to the green, the most sensible shot from there is to come out sideways back to the fairway. To carry the left bunker, a drive of at least 260 metres is necessary and rewarding but be careful NOT to go right as the lake and a large, difficult beach bunker is positioned to catch an errant shot.

The huge double green has its many hole locations well-protected with bunkers to the left, back and right, and is perched above a retaining wall over the lake to the front. A precise approach will set up a birdie chance on this gently undulating green.
